Painting of Cutty Sark sailing ship

"Cutty Sark in Full Sail"

The Cutty Sark is the only surviving example of the legendary 'clipper ships', the merchant ships built in the middle-19th century to carry cargo around the world as fast as possible using nothing but the power of the wind.

This beautiful ship is now preserved in London, after a career lasting 140 years. I painted her as she was, not as she is now. In full sail, skimming through the waves, carrying her precious cargo back home.
