.  "Provence Coal Mine" This picture shows the electricity generating room of an old coal mine in Provence, which is now open to the public.The large machine at the rear is a naval diesel engine which has been modified and coupled to a generator. The raw, industrial feel of this mine appealed to me, and I took many photos as we went around. This room, in particular, struck me as being full of echoes of a fascinating past.
