"Thermopylae"

This is a view of the Thermopylae, a fast cargo "clipper" ship, built in 1868 and designed to transport the tea crop from China to Europe as quickly as possible. The first cargo brought home was worth much more than subsequent shipments, hence the need for the sleek, fast, clipper ships such as this and the more famous Cutty Sark.
